"Place was falling apart. The heating and air didnt work there was huge gap in door. The jaccuzi was closed but nothing was mentioned on there web page. The pool was supper cold. And the place smelled like pot."

"Would recommend earlier breakfast when there are a ton of travel tournaments for all sports going on. A lot had to be out by 7am resulting in no breakfast. There was baseball, basketball and volleyball travel tournaments at all gyms in town. Open breakfast at 6am on them weekends. "

"For a while I have been making reservations at the cheapest, sketchiest hotels or motels I can just to see how bad they are. THIS IS NOT THE WORST. There were problems; the light/fan in the bathroom sounded BAD. The wire was pulled out of the phone. There was no bulb in the wall fixture. The smoke alarm did not work at all. I had to jiggle the handle on the toilet to get it to stop running after flushing. It seems that places no longer put alarm clocks in the rooms; this one did. The room...

"This was one of the most derelict, dirty hotels I've ever entered. We checked into our room despite the tarp on the roof, rotting exterior and filthy lobby. Our room, if possible was worse. Carpets have not been vacuumed in months/years, hallways reeked of pot or fried foods. Rivers of god knows what running down the walls. Every piece of furniture was covered in splatters and stains. The curtain was cut in half and hanging by threads, holes punched in the wall, mirror seriously cracked, windows...

"The room was clean. Mini fridge did not work and would have had to change rooms which I felt wasn't an option as I was extremely ill. The swimming pool (which you can't swim in) needs to be covered better or cleaned so guest can use it because as of right now it is disgusting to see. Staff was friendly and easy to get along with. Will stay again"

"The room was very nicely remodeled but very BASIC....the concierge Dennis was available 24/7 & provided cups, bottled water & kleenex upon our request & delivered them to our room. The bed was very comfortable. There was no remote with the TV so we had to use the buttons on the TV itself. All in all if you're looking for a place to sleep/shower it's great for the price. Would stay there again..close to downtown!"

"I have never stayed in such a run down nasty hotel. It’s by the highway, and you hear it loud and clear. Never again. Traveled to Winterset after leaving Des Moines stayed a a hotel called Cobblestone it was beautiful, very clean, free breakfast, great service, bar. For a few dollars more than the hotel in DesMoines. I will stay there from now on, even though it’s an hour outside of DesMoines."

"We recently booked a two queen room with expedia and for AC Hotel Des Moines and when we checked in they said you had book us for a king with a sofa bed. We specifically booked 2 queens because my sister was traveling with us and she has a bad back so you guys changed our reservation.This is the second time this has happened and the desk said it happens alot with Expedia. We want a refund for the difference in the cost of the room. You ruined my sisters trip!!!"
