"Quirky vibe, European style. Very comfortable room, with excellent amenities. All very thoughtful in terms of guest comfort, needs, use of space and sustainability. Good location by the harbour and opposite the Te Papa museum. Parking a short walk away. Register your car with the hotel to save on parking fees. Breakfast in The Pantry was tasty, with fresh ingredients. Amazing service from friendly staff, thank you Sandra, Pacco & Christina. "

"Hotel is in an excellent location in the heart of the Wellington city with great restaurants nearby. Staff are very friendly and super helpful with check in. Room was absolutely spotless and super clean. It had all listed amendites."

"Location great, kitchen had all I needed, clean, secure. Did have a front loading washing machine but without a door. When I asked reception I was advised there is only a communal laundry. Expedia must change the listing as there is no washer or dryer!!!!"

"Great location but no reception desk. They got my email wrong so we had no idea how to check in or where to park. Parking was expensive. Construction going on so foyer and lift a bit dirty. Loose tap and leaky shower hose. Bed was ok but sofas weren't. Had no milk so bought our own."

"Extremely average given the price point. The carpet in my room was lifting up, curtains ripped, bathroom dated and clunky. Antiquated TV system from the early 2000’s. The hotel needs a full refurbishment to be brought back to its former glory! Wouldn’t recommend at this stage."

"Wow!! Our stay at the Sofitel exceeded expectations! We have stayed at quite a few different ones around NZ and we have to say that the Sofitel is in a league of its own! The staff were amazing and couldn’t help us enough. We were only there for one night but we didn’t want to leave - we will be back. Absolutely worth it. Close to lampton quay too so very central."

"The unit was clean, in good condition, and the beds were comfortable. Instant coffee, teabags, sweeteners, and milk were available in the room along with an electric kettle. Check in and out was simple and quick, staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again."
