"Be prepared to experience a little bit of older style Italy/Venice. Tapestry style walls, and solid wood trims, doors and windows are definitely from a much older era. Hardwood floors, and windows that opened into the room made this room very unique. It wasn't an overly huge room, but everything worked fine. There is a bidet in the bathroom, but it seemed like a waste of space and neither of us were interested in even trying to use it. We aren't European enough obviously. No face clothes, so if you go to this hotel, bring your own. My wife asked and they are not available. The hand towels were "different', put it that way. Not your classic Terry type towel, but the bath towels were just fine. BRING your European electric adaptors, but beware that a higher powered blow dryer might kick out as it is old school wiring. They provide one though right on the bathroom wall. The BREAKFAST was excellent. Try to go between 7 and 8 in the morning as by 9:00 it is extremely busy. Quality of food was excellent. The front desk were very helpful in accommodating any of out special request such as getting to the Port utilizing the water taxi and a private car. THIS HOTEL is extremely convenient to San Marco Square (St. Mark's) and there is a multitude of restaurants within a short walk. Don't get lost in the labyrinth of narrow tunnel like streets. BUT there is a gondola service right in front of the hotel that we used for our second gondola ride. This is a trip back in time."

"Loved the location of the hotel plus very friendly and helpful staff 10 out of 10 for them the breakfast was delicious and plenty of choice was lovely sitting outside having breakfast looking at the canal and bridge the room was lovely one down side was occasionally we had an odd smell in the room assumed it came from the drain in the bathroom but as we only slept in the room it didn't bother us the hotel is a little tired but it adds to the character the room cleaned every day which was nice over all we would go back as the staff and location makes it a lovely hotel"
