"This stay corrosponded with a 50th birthday we were invited to, and chose this accomodation as it was fairly close! We arrived, and no one answered the door, I then phoned, a very polite helpful gentleman let us in, and apologised profusely for not hearing the bell. I was upset at first, that my sister was on the ground floor, and I was on the top floor, but the gentleman carried up my case, I am 67 my sister 75! "Stayed here for 2 nights recently. House actually looked better than the photos. Lots of space with plenty of towels / cutlery / glasses / plates etc. lovely quiet street within walking distance of Loughborough. would 100% stay here again. I have removed one star as the thermostat on the shower could do with being checked. Unfortunately the only temperate was scalding hot which made it difficult to shower but I’m sure that’s an easy fix for the host. Thanks so much for the stay!"

"The room was lovely though the walls were a bit thin and I could hear the neighbours TV. The floors of the upstairs rooms were a bit squeaky but it was a fairly rustic building so to be expected. The staff were excellent and very helpful. The kitchens were out of order but they provided a superb continental breakfast."

"Great welcome for my early arrival. Easy to park. Check in was smooth although i wasnt asked if i would like to add breakfast. Room clean and a very welcome fan set up. 20%off food and drink so i stayed at the hotel for dinner. Limited choice but was nice and i ate outside. Following morning i was earlier than anticipated so i had time for breakfast. Unable to use the discount and i couldnt find anything that informed me i couldnt use it so this was annoying. "Great pub/hotel/bistro in a beautiful peaceful village. Staff were extremely helpful. We had a wedding with so needed an early check-in and late return. Both were accommodated for. Room was clean, fresh. Continental breakfast was included in price. We also paid extra for cooked b/fast. Very nice freshly cooked, hot, good quality products. Nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend the Star Inn and stay there again. Or even go for a nice meal. Give it a go ! "
