"The hotel is about to change hands and become the Guild Hotel. They are busy renovating. The rooms are spread across several buildings. Fortunately the signage is good. What we were not expecting was having to climb a short set of stairs to access our hallway. Location is excellent. It’s directly across from the Underground. The are many cafes, restaurants, grocery stores in the same block. Our room had a refrigerator but no microwave. The coffee maker was difficult to operate. We did not eat at the hotel. Several tour groups were in the hotel at the same time. We were independent travelers."

"Stayed here several times over the years. Rooms are very spacious and clean. It was our anniversary so we had a nice bottle of champagne and a card left in our room which was a lovely touch. You always get a good view of London whatever room you're in, which is a bonus. Personally I always find the check in staff could be more welcoming on arrival. We've never felt overly welcomed at check in which is a shame. That being said, other staff are always very kind and helpful, especially the door men and housekeeping staff."

"Good value for money, we only stayed one night but there seemed to be good facilities and the staff were on hand to answer questions. The only issue was that the lift if very small only enough room For one person and one suitcase so may take several trips."

"We arrived at noon, too early for check-in but when we spoke to the concierge he said a room was ready & we could book-in now. But only internal rooms were ready & we took one. in hindsight this was wrong as we overlooked noisy machine equipment which made a constant noise & made sleeping difficult. The bedroom & shower room were both a bit small but nothing we couldn't live with. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice & lots available. Even though the hotel was very busy we were seated quickly. We had a lemonade & a coke in the bar, very small measurers & expensive. Even though we ordered at the bar & took our drinks away ourselves I was amazed to see a service charge added to the bill. Just not worth it. Housekeeping didn't service our room on our 2nd day and it was a bit of a faff to get it sorted. Now we know all this we probably will go back as we know the pitfalls to avoid."
