"The front of entrance has a very strong odor. The area is a little run down however, once inside the front lobby is nice. The rooms do need updating but they are clean overall 3 star"

"Parking was easy, front desk staff was fantastic and friendly…. And that… is where it ends. Courtyard was colorful and inviting, room was not. Shelf with holes in it, cheap beds, blemished furniture, and a huge cockroach. I’ve stayed in New Orleans and realize there are places with certain “quirks.” This place needs cleaning, remodeling, and some paint on the walls. "

"The negative: Lighting in the room was awful, especially if you don’t get one with a view. Trying to work the TV with the remote became the bane of my existence. Bathroom doors was second to that. This next one I understand isn’t really something the staff can control, but be careful walking from the Quarter to the hotel late at night, especially in front of the Brother’s store on Carondelet and Common St. Especially after midnight; take an Uber. We went into the store to purchase snacks and water for the room, and ran into an NOPD officer across the way who warned us to be careful at that store due to frequent criminal activity. There are some shady characters that seemed to hang out in front of that store everyday and night, but to be fair, we didn’t experience any issues, other than having to be more alert. The breakfast (that we had to pay for even though we supposedly paid for it upon booking), wasn’t anything to write home about. The positive: Staff were super friendly and helpful, service was great as it is in all other places in New Orleans we have visited. Walkability to the Quarter was super convenient. Same with the Street Car stations around the area. Bottom line: Affordable hotel located in the CBD, with great walkability to the Quarter, river, Warehouse District, Superdome. Great if you’re young and/or not traveling with children. However we will stay elsewhere in the future, just not our cup of tea"
