"Very artsy decor which seems very unique for Iceland which is usually more sterile/minimalist. The hot tub was not hot enough for our liking. Otherwise very cool place to stay for a night."

"Overall the room was good and fine. However, amenities greatly lacked. For a family of four, two nights, there was one tiny bar of hand soap, no body wash, one hand towel, just two bowls in the kitchen area. We had to ask for all this and didn’t get it until the next day. There was also a slight sewage smell in the bathroom. The space itself was enough for us but I’d try another place if I come back to visit!"

"I stay at the Eldhestar whenever it is available. Being a photographer, I travel to Iceland a lot (19 times in the last three years). This hotel has the most bang for your buck. Great rooms, nice people, and you get to say hello to the horses each morning on your way out. Near the Golden Circle, Reykjavík, the south coast, and even a day trip to Jökulsárlón is easily doable. I always come back to Eldhestar, and will continue to do so."

The lobby sitting area was also lovely with lots of character and the breakfast room made me feel like I was there in the 1940s as a boarding school student — in a good way. The breakfast buffet selection was solid, with delicious bread and skyr and plenty more."

"This was our accommodation for the second day of our third trip to Iceland. It was perfect for the three sisters traveling together. The view was beautiful, and the place was warm, clean, and comfortable. There were plenty of dishes and cooking utensils available, and parking was very convenient as well."

After many generic (AI generated) mails back and forth someone was sent over on the 2nd day and later they admitted, a part would need to be replaced as the pool could not maintain the temperature. Very disappointing and frustrating, as we booked the accommodation because of the whirlpool. We also had the feeling that the issue was known beforehand, which makes it false advertising."

"This place is magical! The lodge has everything you could need. The hot tub and sauna are amazing! The heated floors throughout felt amazing! Loved all the little touches. It was super clean and the beds were very comfortable! The shower was super hot. The space is well done. The best part is the views! Sleeping under the stars and seeing some northern nights was a dream!!! Waking up to a gorgeous sunrise was another wonderful bonus. Just looking at the views of the snow covered mountains...
