Highland Manor Inn

Highland Manor Inn

10/10 Excellent
"This hotel was recommended to us by someone that works there. My son and I took up the chance to check it out. We had a very pleasant experience overall. Rooms and grounds were clean, temperature of the room was just right walking in. The beds were comfortable which is always the make or break of any hotel. Pool area was roomy although I didn't get in. In the morning, I saw that the grounds were quite nice. They clearly pay attention to a lot of little things here. It has a nice charm to it. The back entrance is very helpful for those us in lower riding cars so good to check that out on the map. And how refreshing it is to see the Word of God shared in the room and general area! Definitely noted. There was two minor things that I would tweak. 1) the bath floor. Tile was fine and clean, just very dated. I think changing that alone would remove the thought of dated as the rest of the property really felt more like a mountain inn which it is! 2) If you arrive at night from the north, just be aware the driveway is kind of hidden by a big tree so hard to see. Some lights there would be great to mark it. From the south, you'll see it no problem. Lastly, the ladies at the front desk were very kind. Pleasant vibe here that is in character with the location. And a very welcome change from the chain hotels that while nice can be somewhat 'meh'. Charm and character appreciated and definitely recommended!"

"Had a wonderful stay and we will absolutely be back to visit, and will recommend Laurel Valley Mountain Retreat to our East Tennessee visitors. The only issue we had was a slightly sticking keypad entry on arrival, but the staff responded quickly and once we figured it out, no more issues at all. It was a peaceful night, just what we needed after a long week. Tyler's breakfast was delicious! Can't wait to come back and stay longer."
