"Love staying at the Imperial Hotel , have stayed here before . It is a lovely hotel, historical. Food is great , breakfast buffet style with service. Evening menu's good selection, lovingly cooked and beautifully presented. A little pricey, but you get top quality for that. Bar prices are as expected ££. Can highly recommend the Devonshire cream tea, its delicious. The rooms , the decor and furnishings could do with a little attention, for example fraying carpet near bathroom door...

"The hotel is a little tired. We had worn carpets and old fashioned decor in our room/suite. However, it was cheap. The staff were helpful. The gardens in great shape. The outdoor swimming pool the absolute best. They are closing it for winter next week. There is an indoor pool with sauna, steam room etc, that all looked great, but I love swimming outdoors. "
