"I stayed at this hotel last night and it was one of the most disappointing and uncomfortable hotel experiences I’ve ever had. We arrived after 9:30 p.m., and the first thing we noticed was the overwhelming smell of marijuana throughout the lobby and hallways. The coffee pots were sitting half‑full on the burners, giving off a burnt, sour smell that made me feel nauseated.
The first room we were assigned was directly to the left of the front desk. It had no window, only a sliding door facing the outdoor walkway by the stairs, and that door had been screwed shut. The room was extremely small, poorly maintained, and had burn marks on the nightstand that looked like someone had been smoking or using drugs in the room. The walls had stains, the smell was awful, and the space felt unsafe and unlivable.
When we asked to cancel, the receptionist told us we would not receive a refund. Instead, she offered an “upgrade” to an ocean‑view room for an additional $42. I went to check it, and it smelled exactly the same. Nothing about it felt like an upgrade.
After several back‑and‑forth conversations, we finally went to the room around 11 p.m., grabbed only part of our belongings, and left the hotel entirely by 7 a.m. because the conditions were that bad.
I do not recommend staying at this location. I’ve stayed at other Days Inn properties and had good experiences, but this one felt neglected, unkept, and unsafe."
