"Everything about our anniversary weekend was amazing. The hotel, the staff, the bar & restaurant, all exceptional. The reason for 3 stars is I was sold a “partial ocean view room” and I got a frosted glass slider, bolted shut, overlooking the buildings HVAC systems. "Do not stay at Garden City Inn. The reviews and photos online do not accurately reflect the state of the property. The beds are hard and uncomfortable, the room was not clean, and upper management does not care about your experience. I cut my stay short due to the dirty conditions of the room (soap scum and dirt in the shower, hair on the floor and towels) and how uncomfortable the bed and sheets were. "Got there a little earlier than expected, so I decided to give them a call and ask if a room was available. Worker name Pam, was very rude and had an awful attitude. We were able to get a room, but once we got there the attitude was worse with the huffing and puffing. She might’ve rough morning but she was VERY nasty & I didn’t appreciate that at all. Definitely not going back at all!"

"The elevators were slow and some broken. They wouldn’t let you bring a cooler to the pool but the drink stand( Tipsy Turtle) kept closing. It made no sense. Also you had to wait until 9am to sit at the pool. Fire alarm went off and it smelled like smoke but after we evacuated no one communicated what happened. The pools were fun but there was not enough pool chairs and the first day we had to put our towels on the ground. The coffee bar was very disorganized. The first two days the person...

"Upon arrival there was a slew of shady undesirables hanging around. Alot of loud noises and music coming from other rooms. The elevator was covered in urine and i spent about 10 minutes trying to get the key to work with the door. Once inside the entire place reeked of mildew and mold. Half of the lights wouldn’t turn on. I immediately left and went to another hotel where i felt safe and clean. DO NOT take your family here under any circumstance."

"We did not like a thing about this hotel. The TV and internet did not work the whole time we were there. I got charged for a room with two beds for 3 people and got a room with only one bed. They would not return our deposit said the room was trashed when we left said they had pictures but refused to send us pictures. this hotel should not be open at all you couldn't swim in the pool cause it was so nasty. there was blood on our bathroom wall where it had not been clean. "It didn’t look anything like the pictures it was ran down. They only have the front building repainted looking okay. You couldn’t walk around in the room without shoes. There was no hot water so we didn’t get to shower. There was a lot of damage to the walls doors and floors. One spot they put up a random piece of plywood and screwed it to the wall to cover up a hole in the drywall. There was also a big roach dead in the floor when we woke up. "The beach was under construction during our stay, which certainly wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but the crew worked around the clock making it hard to sleep sometimes. Had to go to the desk & trade our dirty towels for clean ones, they don’t provide housekeeping services or bring clean towels to the room. Not a bad place, just wanted something cheap on the beach & that’s what we got"

"The beach access is what you’re paying for. The saying “ getting your money worth”. The price was great. The property was not clean. feral cats everywhere. Drug use on property. No Wi-Fi. The first room the refrigerator didn’t work. Had to pay to upgrade my room to get a working refrigerator. No towels in the room. Rooms are not cleaned. Recommend to singles or couples that are not planning to spend that much time in rooms. Staff was good."
