"The bathroom was lovely and great toilet paper quality and towels, nice toiletries too. Nice tea tray and bed was comfy. However there was a gaping hole filled with cobwebbed pipes and the view out of the window was over bins. The room was cold but a portable heater was provided and sufficient. "Very centrally located hotel."

"We were refused service at the restaurant, when we told staff we were willing to wait they said no point you probably won’t get a table. Then we asked if we could eat in our room and they said no. Effectively giving us no food options we had to order pizza as we are unfamiliar with the area and there was nothing within walking distance."

"Excellent hotel. Beautiful character room with good facilities and spotlessly clean. Very helpful and friendly staff, especially welcoming at check-in and although busy, they showed us to the room. Would definitely recommend, we will make it our go to hotel in North Yorkshire."

"Room was spotless and appeared to have been recently decorated. Unfortunately there were cracks in the sink and the hotel generally looks a little tired. The hotel staff were amazing … all so friendly, helpful and welcoming. Particularly Aziz at breakfast and the wonderful bartender Mal. He couldn’t do enough for us, moving furniture around and asking us if we wanted any particular music to be played. He really went above and beyond to make my 89 year old mum’s evening. "

"I only write this review as there was no one on reception when I left at 7am. The shower head in room 26 needs replacing, or possibly fixing. It is an odd design which I’ve not seen before but water gushes out from all angles, making it difficult to have a shower whilst the bathroom ends up a watery mess. I only booked an accessible room as it was the cheapest option but anyone with a disability would struggle with this. Urgent fix required for the next occupant. Otherwise the usual comfortable...

"Room was nice, staff was friendly, gym was clean and well equipped. Breakfast had very good - recommended. Evening meal was average in terms of quality - probably better to go elsewhere. This hotel is charging for parking in a funny way which spoils check-in experience. This should be included in hotel price. "
