"Very dated hotel. Staff wouldn’t send wine glasses to the room for a bottle of champagne we bought on property. Poor food selection."

"Clean condo. Six of us had plenty of room. 3 adults, 3 teenagers. Excellent value for 3 bd 3 bath. Kitchen was equipped but not chef level but we prepared only simple breakfast food and ate out mostly. About 12-15 minutes walk to beach but beach parking is plentiful. I would recommend to families or couples."

"I stayed with my husband, my 2.5yo and 11mo. It was such a great location and had everything we need. The pools were fantastic and the beach was right there with lots of fish and even turtles! We stayed in a 1 bedroom with a kitchenette and it was quite large. Plenty of room for all of us. There were shops with groceries, restaurants and shopping near by. The only thing was the restaurant was closed for renovations. The other food outlets did their best but a lot of the food was heavy and fried. It was the same at the restaurants around; most menus were laden with heavy fried food."

"The room was very clean and what I expected with an ocean view, well laid out, once we got the hang where to go, the tram was the main trans portion for the 1st few days until we got the lay of the property. All the employees are very friendly as well as other customers that we talked to. The dolphin area was awesome as well as the pools and we also got to see sea turtles. We took the shuttles to the shopping centers at least once a day, the drivers where very friendly also. My last day we got picked up from the room taken to the front lobby where we front desk employees called and had a Taxi driver waiting to take us to the airport. I enjoyed every bit of my stay."

Castle Hali'i Kai at Waikoloa

"WiFi was a big problem. We informed management but they were not able to resolve the issue. They kept telling us it was because we had too many devices. This was not true as the WiFi password kept saying the password was wrong. Further if it was device issue, the apartment was for 6, and we had six devices. The WiFi should support that shouldn’t it? The management was only available 10-6, so if you check in after 6 pm- you don’t get the pool/ gym card until the next day at 10am. Not ideal for people who are vacation and on a timeline. The unit owner keeps the AC locked. Fortunately there are very good fans that helped keep us comfortable. The pullout bed was filthy. Fortunately the management had left us an inflatable bed which was used instead of the pull out couch. Positive: The property area is safe and pretty and convenient. The water in the shower was hot."

Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa

"Upon check-in I learned that booking through Expedia cancels any benefits of a Bonvoy member (breakfasts, upgrades, etc). The hotel was not very helpful and dismissed the issue, Expedia support was worthless and never responded. I would never use Expedia again for a Marriott, or other major brand, hotel reservation if you have earned status. The fitness center is very basic, and doesn't appear to have been update since our last stay, years ago. The food options are very limited, and expensive . The pool bar is also very basic, using machine dispensers for blended drinks and no good options for kids. They had beach cruisers, complimentary. which are fun and the concierge was very helpful."
