"The restaurant below is absolutely lovely. The rooms are a little tired but comfortable and clean. They were also very quiet which was important to us. We would stay again."

"Upon arrival, we were informed the pool is faulty and can’t be accessed. The carpet on the hallways was extremely dirty. The room has very poor lighting. The bathroom had only a shower so it’s not convenient if you don’t want to wet your hair. There was dirty plates and rubbish left infront of most rooms for hours. Also, for breakfast, I would rate it 5/10. The buffet was stored in rusted heavy bowls and lids you will have to lift up. Also there was no hot chocolate just coffee and tea bags....

"The staff were immediately helpful when the key card wouldn't work. They were also helpful in getting me something to drink after a heavily warm day. The room was basic but useful The bathroom was efficient in the use of its space. Breakfast was a refreshing start to my morning, especially the fresh water on tap, being nice and chilly. The wifi was quick enough to be useful and not a hinderance like larger hotels. It was easy to travel to and from my hotel of choice."

Really big bathroom Very hot but it was a hot evening outside The check-in was weird because we were asked to pay £5 for parking which wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the booking process. Considering it’s a motorway services accommodation, there’s really no choice unless we parachuted in. The hotel should have the honesty to include it in the price at booking."

"The hotel was advertised as pet friendly on Expedia, charging £20 per stay for a dog. I was surprised to be messaged by the management a week before my stay (even though I've booked 3 weeks prior) informing me that I will be charged £30 per night for my dog. I'm glad to say they did honour the advert content and charged me £20 in the end. Another thing is: even though I've pre paid when I booked when I arrived they had problems retrieving my payment (via Expedia) and I was asked to come to...

"Staff were lovely & very helpful but the hotel itself is in very poor condition & quite dirty. The beds are awful & can feel every spring and the bed frame through gaps, shower curtain mouldy & no shower gel or toilet paper in the room, mugs dirty & the carpets were not clean. Again can't fault the staff, kind and welcoming."

"The hotel is a very old building and internally it did look a bit tired but the room was clean and well stocked. Some rooms are in one building and rest are above the pub. Would definitely book again as very convenient to NEC"
