"We had a wonderful experience at The Mortimer’s Arms. If you are visiting Paultons Park/Peppa Pig World, the location is unbeatable (within walking distance). The hotel is exceptionally dog-friendly. They provided a water bowl, treats, and a toy for our dog, which was such a lovely gesture. "The staff were friendly and very welcoming. The room was really clean and well equipped. Breakfast was busy and some items were in short supply...but this was due to a late delivery. The staff were very apologetic about this. Gluten free bread was provided for us...all done with a smile! "Excellent stay at the Chequers Inn again for a week for the New Year. Beautiful room, good food, clean, lovely staff - shout out to Angela who went above & beyond for us! Lovely compassionate email sent to us following the very sad death of my Dad whilst we were away. Only downside - the bar closed at 10:30pm on New Years Eve! We will definitely return."

"Lovely hotel and reception staff polite and helpful. Overnight parking being £20 is too much and puts me off staying again. Another minus was the room was very warm but the air con is disabled so you can't even use it! Expedia lists air con as an amenity so guests should be able to use what they're paying for. Didn't get a good night's sleep as a result."

"On arrival our room was upgraded to a large seaview room with a walk in shower which was a very nice welcome. The Pump room bar is excellent with a cozy atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food both at breakfast and in the evening venues is top notch. Dining is a particular highlight which should not be missed with a very good menu expertly prepared and served to a really high standard. "

"We booked 2 sea view rooms for 3 nights. Only one room had a sea view and the bathroom in that room had black mould around the ceiling. The other room had a very old mattress and the bedding was old and thin. The pillows in that room were flat. We checked out after 1 night and will not be back. Whilst the staff were friendly, this hotel needs refurbishment, new mattresses, new duvets, pillows, blankets and linen. Mould is injurious to health and no hotel of the calibre that this hotel...

"Was close enough to the bus stop to walk and close enough to the cruise port to walk. Forgot face cloths are not a thing a Europe…remember your fave cloths if traveling from North America. Hotel has a great vibe; staff were friendly and helpful. "
