"Was a nice place, the inside was much nicer than the outside, the breakfast was great but the pub is noisy. They do close at 11 and things quiet down quickly after that. To be expected at an inn like this but was slightly annoying after a long day walking. "

"Simply stunning place to stay. Tucked away at the end of a picturesque country lane. Accommodation is top drawer. Peaceful and very relaxing. Walkable into Sandsend for fish and chips. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast - top notch. A real gem. "

The owners even mòved their car so we could tuck our motorbike on the drive. Would recommend without question. Oh,and a first class breakfast with proper tea!"

"Loved it. Would consider staying again. Nice touches in room, small fridge with complementary milk, soft drinks and water, as well as the usual teas and coffee. Nice bathroom. Location at the top near the post office. And free parking was a good bonus in an area where parking spaces are few."

"The property is really nicely done up and the folk who run it are charming. The local shops (within 50 yards) are superb and we enjoyed getting bread and meat from them for going home! The local pub was an excellent place to dine!"

Good location for the train station 🙂 Liked the pack in the room with the story of Beggar's Bridge, we had a walk down to it after a delicious breakfast and ended up carrying along through the woods. "Requested parking and Luckily managed to secure a parking space outside the guest house and Phil gave me a parking permit for our full stay. The room was big, clean and comfortable with sofa to relax on, ensuit with shower and lovely soft towels. Teas, coffee and hot chocolate, bisuits and chocolate daily in room. The breakfast was lovely and the full english was huge, cereal, yogurt and fruit availble. We had a lovely stay and would return when in Whitby "

"We stayed in this beautifully presented, immaculately clean guest house for two nights. Size wise, our room was much as expected from a guest house, it was very well equipped (including a fridge) and had a nice walk in en-suite shower. An extremely generous traditional cooked breakfast was provided in the base dining room (there was a choice of standard fried, with all the trimmings, or scrambled or poached eggs plus additional items such as kippers if ordered in advance). "Absolutely fantastic 3 night break. Couldn’t fault the accommodation at all. The hosts were friendly, informative and accommodating. Room was spotless. Breakfast was cooked to perfection. Just a short walk down to the harbour too. Would definitely stay here again"

"Another great stay at Grosmont House. It was really convenient for access to/from Grosmont Station as well as the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The room was clean nicely arranged, it had all the accessories you’d need. The staff, yet again, were fantastic and friendly! The breakfast was brilliant too! We shall be back again!"

"Rachael and Rory were perfect hosts and were always there to assist us. The icing on the cake was a delicious Yorkshire Brack cake waiting for us on our arrival and to top it all Rachael made us a cake half way through our visit. The accommodation was excellent. Car parking right outside the front door."
