The welcome at reception was very nice, because we were on an overnight stop, we just want a sleepover. The room very basic, and bathroom left a lot to be desired, just enough toilet roll for 2 visits!! Towel rail hanging off the wall, an over bath shower that just wet the whole floor. 4 star facilities definitely not, would I return definitely not and I would not recommend. We didn’t bother with breakfast just got in the car and carried on with our trip,

The bed was comfy but the room lacked plug sockets and the furniture was old. The carpet had a large stain and the corridor and rooms smelt unaired and musty. Staff were not chatty and breakfast tables were not correctly set so you had to ask for cups, spoons, small plates etc. it’s a shame because the pool was clean and the sauna was great. We thought the pricing on dinner was too high £5 for coleslaw as a side was the most extreme! So we had dinner elsewhere.

Nice spa but tired rooms
I can't fault the spa area. We used the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi and left feeling very relaxed. Unfortunately, the hotel rooms were quite poor in comparison. We paid for the superior rooms but the carpet was completely threadbare in places, the phone in the room didn't work, we couldn't get a wifi reception and there was no water in the room when we arrived. With the exception of the reception area, the communal area were all looking a little tired and knocked about. The food in the restaurant was limited, with no healthy option, but the portions were good and the food was tasty.

Nice place to stay

I have been here before - in the summer. It is well placed for Clumber Park walks and cycling. It has a very good Pool. The staff are very friendly. BUT this time my room was further away from Reception and the corridor carpets were VERY grubby and damp. The bedroom looked very tired and the radiator did not work - even after reporting it.

Overdue a refurbishment.
Super spa. Friendly staff. Great location opposite NT Clumber Park, which is ideal for wallking, running or cycling. Main airy restaurant only used for breakfast. Coffee bar-cafe is used for other meals. That area is vey 'tired'. Smoking station is AT the front entrance and at the door to the quadrangle - along with a bucket and adjacent area of cigarette butts. Unpleasant.

I only stayed here to have a bed for the night as it was local to the go ape experience we booked in Sherwood Pines. Was a mix up with the room which they did sort out eventually. We didn't have their breakfast as I felt it was a bit pricey for what they offered. Instead we were up and out by 9am. As National Trust members we had a superb breakfast at Clumber Park down the road which has an amazing restaurant which opened at 9am on the sunday. The hotel itself is fairly dated. Rooms are clean and fairly spacious. Definitely more 3 star than the 4 star they advertise.

Avoid like a Michael Barrymore pool party!
From the picture of the owner on the wall in his brazen, chavey sunglasses promoting quality and excellence it was always destined to disappoint. The standard of finishes and furnishings throughout the hotel and in need of desperate repair and reinvigoration. Having checked in and attended an event through the course of the day, it was agreed that my bag would be left in my room for my return. As luck would have it, my room would be at the far end of the hotel. It is what it is. But to get there and your room key not work only leads to being frustrated. I went back to the main desk, got a refreshed key and headed back to the room. Expecting to find my belongings in my room after a long day, to find they had not been delivered left me quite frankly, angry. Back to reception it was. Grab my bag and off back to the other end of the hotel! Finally getting the chance for a shower, I was left further disappointed when I couldn’t stand up straight under the shower head! Now I’m only a modest 5’10 so I don’t see this as being too much to ask but the fact even I had to practically crouch down to get under the head begs belief! Mould and holes in all of the silicone around the bath tub. I’m get to find a hint of quality in the place. To bed next and you may guess, further disappointment. Fred Flintstone had a softer mattress! I’ll leave it here as I’m out of characters but avoid like a Michael Barrymore pool party!

Weekend stay for a nearby, family wedding
Although we had an issue with requesting an Accessible / disabled room, the staff were very friendly & did all they could to sort. Food was excellent, beds really comfy. Spa was a lovely extra & great location by Clumber park. Would return if ever in the area again & would recommend. Little phone signal locally, WiFi available.

Lovely little find
Lovely presented reception, great decor looks lovely. Wanted to book in early to use spa we paid in advance for, reception advised we couldn't till 3pm. Walk around clumber instead. Great. Room standard. Clean but needed hoovering around edges Bed creaky but clean. Water in bottles in room already opened so didnt touch. Tea/coffe facilities standard.Excellent restaurant/bar staff. Food was exceptional. Wonderful new years eve night, even without a party. Lovely breakfast, tasted great,although would be easier with juice and toast table near breakfast food. Lovely helpful smiling waiter and manager very amusing and helpful.Still didnt use spa next day, own fault as too much alcohol night before! Easy checkout. Will definitely be going back to use spa to see how it is as it looked nice.

Definitely not 4 stars. A reasonable 3 star hotel
Check in (December 2022) was fine - very nice receptionist. First room we were given was freezing and smelt of cigarette smoke so we declined it. Second one actually had a radiator that worked. Bed comfy. Room was poorly decorated and bit tatty but served a purpose. Even though we were staying at the weekend, breakfast is only until 09.30 which is ridiculous of you're there to relax and recharge.
