"The hotel is a striking and unusual building, very handsome, though we would have appreciated better signs - the rooms in the 400s, which had to be accessed through the library, were difficult to find when first arriving. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the location of the hotel, near the seafront sights (the Mary Rose museum, Nelson's flagship Victory, etc) and the ferry ports. Everything clean and well maintained."

"We had a room with a view of the Spinnaker Tower plus a sofa bed for a bit more room. Perfectly fine for our one night stay on a Sunday night and very central for tower, boat trip , dockyard, outlet stores etc. We tried Pho ( vietnamese style) just on the front of the Gunwharf Quay and loved it for our evening meal. Parking easy in Gunwharf Quay and the hotel validates your ticket so you don't have to pay to park your car. Just remember to use your room key card first to activate the lift in...

"Particularly if you're travelling with young kids, make sure if you book a pet-free stay you get pet-free accommodation. Dog hair everywhere in the caravan we stayed in with our 2 & 4 year old, which wasn't ideal, despite having booked pet-free. Caravan was lovely aside from that. "

"The hotel was good value. The room was clean and tea /coffee making facility nice to have. Bathroom wall under sink was a little dirty but in general everything else was clean. Food was good. Sadly there was no gluten free bread at breakfast on the first day but staff offered us a voucher for free drinks and made sure bread was available the next day. Food at dinner was well cooked although it would have been good to have a larger choice included in the set menu particularly taking allergies...

"Very friendly restaurant staff. Reception team efficient and very helpful. Asked us about a ramp for my son's wheelchair anytime we came in and out of the hotel.
