"The staff were mostly friendly and helpful if in somewhat small supply. Pool bar on 6th floor barely staffed and not actually by pool. Had to ring to reception to get someone to come up and serve. The decor was a little tired and outdated. Cover to toilet flush fell off although it was quickly put right by the time we came back around lunch - clearly cleaning crew reported it and had it fixed. Old fashioned shower over bath. Hot breakfast wasn’t!! I tried the first two days thinking day one...

My one suggestion is to refill coffee pods- they are not super expensive and I would rather pay more for room than have to buy from the reception each time- that is a tacky move. "I am obsessed with trains. I didn't pick a train side room because I knew the river was what I wanted more on this trip. but I wish I could've done both at the same time! "The hotel was centrally located and not too far from the City Centre. Rooms were clean and nice. House keeping comes everyday to clean and replenish. The staff were very polite and helpful, answered a y queries I had. Buffet breakfast had an array of choices from breads, fruits, to pastries. Our kids enjoyed the pool only one improvement I'd suggest is to put in like 4 heavy duty fans. That pool house was steaming hot. The Soul restaurant was by far the best. However, The new wing of the hotel where most guests stay , is now 25 years old. It is in need of refurbishment. Still, the rooms are large, clean, with lovely traditional furnishings. Beautiful views from the rooftop and amazing food and beverage service- a great spot to work until your room is ready or before you leave as well. Rooms are spacious - no tv (tvs can be important for local news etc) or mini fridge tho which was hard cus we had medication with us- they offered the front desk fridge but we just kept getting ice. "Had a wonderful time in this hotel. Perfect location and close to all amenities. The station is a short walk however, you don’t have to go anywhere as the area has everything you need. The ambience of the location was fab. Always hustle and bustle with live performances which was only a short walk from the hotel. Night time was peaceful in room.
