"Man this place was cool, staff was awesome too, great view definitely a little hike up a hill but it’s not far from the station and the surrounding area is so beautiful it didn’t even matter, super close to that waterfall walkway thing which is awesome, it’s just a great area loved it, and the bathtub was awesome, I definitely wore my kimono wrong but the staff was so nice reguardless made me feel very nice. and the japanese experience is REAL here aswell"

"This was a unique experience. The 2 indoor and 1 outdoor onsen were very relaxing. The staff were extremely friendly, polite and helpful. The traditional Japanese food was beautifully presented and tasty. The standard of cleanliness was exceptional. About 25 minutes walk from Gora station if you are dragging heavy cases up the hill! Otherwise about 15 minutes. "

"Hotel is gorgeous and such a great experience. The Onsen is great, not too crowded. In room onsen/outdoor bath was a fantastic addition and really made it feel exclusive. Expensive, but the included meals are a whole experience in themselves and worth the extra cost. A great way to experience the area. Check out the outdoor sculpture park nearby."

"Fantastic Onsen with big bedrooms and low number of bedrooms. Great levels of service and attention to details. One must like Japanese cuisine otherwise it becomes rather difficult. The hotel is at the end of the Hakone Ropeway which makes it convenient to reach. However it is in ‘the middle of nowhere’ so not the easiest of places to travel to with luggage. "

"We had 2 rooms for us - enjoyed the night in Gora Kadan Onsen (Spa) on the way from Kyoto to Tokyo. We had full board = dinner + breakfast and, while not at all low cost, it was one of the most memorable stays one can have with great food and very traditional Japan onsen atmosphere"
