"We had a very nice stay at The Pierside Santa Monica. The location is excellent—just steps from the beach and very convenient for walking around the area. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast at the hotel restaurant was fresh and very tasty. The only downside was the parking. The valet service is quite expensive, which was surprising since the parking appears to be in the same building as the hotel. Overall, a great stay thanks to the location and service, but the parking cost is something to be aware of."

"This hotel is everything you need for a corporate visit to Santa Monica. The rooms are large with a desk inside that is helpful. The hotel itself is a bit outdated in a few areas and while we there the restaurant was closed. The staff were all sweet and super helpful when needed. A great bonus is the location - far enough from the crowds of tourists, but close enough if you want that experience....and there are 3 fantastic places to eats just blocks away!"

"Housekeeper knocked on my door and within 5 seconds of knocking, entered my room. I was on my way to open the door and see who was there.. when you knock, you should give the guest a moment to respond before entering. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable for the remainder of my stay. Rooms have a weird smell, however did appear clean. Bedding was uncomfortable, a fleece blanket is a questionable choice for a hotel in Los Angeles… Overall, it was a cheap stay so worth the price. I personally would not stay again, as I felt unsafe and mislead by recent reviews saying the place was updated. It is not. It is very much a cheap motel and that’s what you will pay for and get."

"Not much going on in this motel. The staff was personable, but scarce. Underground parking was nice to have, but no gates. The motel has lots of homeless in the area so parking two stories underground didn't feel safe as a woman. When taking the garage stairs there was a makeshift mat under the stairs leading to me exiting the stairwell. Fortunately there is a room key operated elevator. The rooms could use updating and the visual security could be better. The nearby sidewalks were being torn up during our stay so walking around would have been difficult. Stayed 3 nights without incident."
