What a gem! especially at the price. A really lovely pub, proper oldie-worldie, great food, and a lovely room. We really enjoyed this stay - strongly recommend.

The room was tiny & a bit grubby but most of all it was very, very hot - with no way off coming it down. The downstairs pub section was good but the food was mediocre at best. It is only a 3Star but I would say on the low end of 3 Stars

I stumbled on this little gem for a work stay ... but fell in love with hit as soon as i walked in - the staff are SO friendly and helpful, made you feel welcome straight away. The food is fantastic, i recommend Monday curry nights - unreal ! Breakfast was delish as well. My room was gorgeous, country vibes with a bit of glam, antique looking wardrobes, a fan, lots of coffee and tea and fresh milk ! I cannot wait to come back

We had a fantastically comfortable stay: the room was small but very nicely done, good bedside lights (not always bright enough we've found), the bed was really comfortable, shower good. Breakfast in a side room of the pub was absolutely delicious and beautifully laid out.

An historic inn with nicely updated rooms. Excellent shower, large room and the most comfortable bed I have slept in so far on this 3 month trip. Beer in the bar is great with a good selection of wines. Food was good with some interesting Lebanese style dishes. Very quiet and I would highly recommend this inn.

This is a very old Inn with oak beams and uneven floors. The facilities were good however the room was unbearably hot. Even though we had 2 fans on we were just covered in sweat as soon as we came out of the shower. It was impossible to sleep.

We chose this hotel/pub as it was close to the Bombay Sapphire distillery, I think most people staying were there for the same thing. We were not too sure what to expect as their communication has been awful, I emailed several times over the last few months and had no response at all. I had emailed and asked for an inside room after reading several reviews saying that the outside stable rooms were dark and dingy; needless to say when we arrived we were booked into an outside room! The corridor leading to the room was tatty and dirty but the room itself was large and comfortable, albeit dark as the windows were quite small. There were some nice touches in the room, the radio was playing in the background, the heating was on and there was complementary milk in the fridge and shortbread biscuits for a snack. The room could have been cleaned to a better standard, cobwebs all over and the laminate flooring was sticky and gritty. The evening meal was well cooked and adequate, as was the breakfast, the staff were also helpful and friendly. DO NOT buy a drink in there unless you have plenty of money, I bought a pint of lager and a large glass of white wine and was charged nearly £22! I obviously queried this and was told the wine was expensive, I said I didn't want the bottle just a glass! It transpires that the locals won't dink in there as it is too expensive, there are several other local pubs in the village were the same round of drinks was half the price.
