"Hotel is easy to find and has plenty of parking. Rooms were fine, with enough space and necessary facilities. We needed three rooms, and staff had arranged that they were three adjacent rooms, which was good. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very accommodating - we needed some breakfasts to take away for some of our party who were out running during breakfast service. "The outside looks a little tired We had a very warm welcome on arrival Check in was quick and easy We were shown to our room (10) the man made polite conversation. The room was a good size but very dated like staying at your grandma’s. The room was very clean, the towels were white, clean and soft. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept well. There is ample free parking. Overall a good stay for one night."

"This was our 2nd stay when visiting Portsmouth for gigs. The hotel team are always very freindly and helpful. The breakfast is always good with good selection of fruits and juices to compliment ( if you actually have room). Free parking on a 1st come basis. All in all a great place to stay when in Pompey!"

"There were two restaurants near one Greek and one Latin American we tried the latter and it was good, the Greek one was closed Monday. Staff were welcoming, small family run hotel so personal. Nice bar area. Breakfast was included (continental) but they did offer boiled eggs or bacon bap or sausage bap in the morning."

"There were no adjoining rooms like we were told we could request. Air conditioning was not working. We were given fans but the windows were broken and unable to open to circulate air. There were no laundry facilities or pool like the website suggested. Our family room that was supposed to sleep 3 by using a bed and pull out sofa did not work for us since the pull out sofa was determined to be unsafe and not usable."

"The main building is beautiful and grade one listed. The gardens were lovely and there was a great sense of history inside and out of the building. We sat out on the terrace with a drink and enjoyed the sunshine. Rather large queues at the bar. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. Unfortunately, the pool and the lift down to it showed signs of needing some TLC. We didn't have a TV remote, and when we tried to phone, we couldn't get through to the reception, as it was constantly engaged...

"A lovely little hotel a couple of minutes walk away from the beach and 10 minutes walk from the theatre and restaurants. Staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable … quite a small bathroom but fine for a night’s stay. It was quite warm in the room and we couldn’t open one of the windows as the latch was broken.
