"Exquisite. I would live here if I could! The room was enormous and spotless with gorgeous views; even though I didn’t face the castle, the view was stunning. The room had soaring ceiling and windows, comfortable bed and pillows, great water pressure and heated towel rack. The staff was a delight; one concierge gave me a detailed explanation of the best route to hike Arthur’s Seat with a map to take with me, then wanted to hear all about it upon my return. I love this hotel and hope to stay...

"The hotel is beautiful. The temperature inside the hotel is warm, considering the cold and rainy Edinburgh weather, the people cannot do enough for you, and it’s in a great location. The only problem is outside the hotel, it’s very busy because there’s the train stop right there and the bus stop but you’re centrally located so that is great.
There are always cabs outside running to take you anywhere.
The restaurant, the Number One, in the hotel, Michelin rated, is excellent.

"Wonderful hotel! Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff, extremely clean rooms and very comfortable indeed. The décor is bold but actually works really well as in contrast with the old building. The rooms are much more serene in tone. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but we had some drinks in the bar which were delicious (although a little pricey!).
