"This historic building is in the perfect location. The dining area is remodeled and absolutely beautiful. Food is really good. The rooms are very nice as well. Just remember there’s no lifts to rooms as it’s a historic building. The location is so close to rail and bus stations. The staff is super nice and very helpful with any needs you might have. "Managed to book the last room available a twin with plenty of room and comfortable beds. Said own bathroom but was across the public hallway. At check in was not advised to turn power to bathroom was a switch outside in public hallway. Not great when already stripped off. Eventually worked it out. Breakfast was great with outlook over country side."

"Hotel indicates they have parking, but it’s very limited for the amount of rooms and we were never able to get a spot. There’s a lot of trash outside the hotel as well as old dog poop just sitting outside. The front door was never cleaned up. Inside walls needed to be repainted. There were things splashed and dripped down the walls. The worst was our bathroom there was mold growing on the walls (near the floor) and when we took a shower, the whole bathroom flooded. "We did not enjoy our stay at the Black Isle. The price we were charged for what we got was wild. Way overpriced for a private bunk bed room in a hostel. The room was very hot, the only way to cool it down was to open the windows, but it was very loud outside until midnight when the Secret Garden closed down. There was black mould in the bathrooms and very few amenities in the room. The mattresses were thin and felt like the springs were digging into our backs. I will note that the bar staff...

"The communal kitchen was wonderful. The bathroom was problematic. The sink was nearly impossible to use - tiny and there was a shelf just above the sink that impeded access to the sink. So there was a lot of splashing water!"
