"Not sure how its a 4-star. Anyway, the restaurant was really good, great food (but a bit heavy on cheese and light on mushrooms in the risotto) and wine. Special recognition for Tilly, who was very attentive. The fire alarm went off 12 times in the night, really? The room, No. 17, was way too hot, maybe that's what triggered the alarm? The heated towel rail was on full and I couldn't see how to turn it off. The bathroom extractor fan ran on for ages."

"I booked a room that was not facing the street. The room was okay, but very small. There was a window, but the glass was dirty and the immediate outside was very dirty. The staff was polite and helpful. There is no lobby, just a bar with rooms upstairs."

"The room was very clean and the bed had lovely sheets. The shower was very good. However the main problem was there was no place to have breakfast, I was informed of this on my way to the hotel! As we came by train we could not go and find a place for breakfast. Staff told us there was a cafe where we could eat 2 minutes up the road, it was not a cafe but a service station that sold hot pies. "Absolutely loved the Blue Boar, had a courtyard ground floor room, bar and seating areas are great. Breakfast was first class. Brilliant on site parking. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again 🙂"
