"We stayed here for one night after a day in Winchester. A nice enough hotel, with staff pleasant enough. The room we stayed in was small but well kept. The main issue we had was that the room was that next to a staff run through, meaning doors were slammed constantly. Further, there was no air conditioning, and the room we were in at the bottom floor was next to a busy beer table and had lots and lots of mosquitoes, meaning we were bitten to heck! "Everything is excellent! The room is beautifully equipped, with superbly comfortable bed, brilliant shower, decent size bath and good Wi-fi. All staff in the pub were friendly and served us with good humour at breakfast, lunch or dinner. Food was brilliant (we ate there every night). Location was just what we were after, small village with no shops, but easy driving distance from larger centres. Plenty of walking trails nearby. Highly recommended."

"Stayed for one night. Had an evening meal and breakfast the following morning. The food was excellent value for money. The breakfast buffet choices were amazing. We stay here every year on our way to Portugal. Just love the place. We took our two dogs with us. The staff are very friendly and really helpful."

"Nice location, nice room and comfy bed. One negative that we experienced was when we arrived we waited for a while before anyone came and when they did they simply gave us our key, told us our room and that was it. No warmth, not very friendly and was a bit of a shame. Left us both thinking it was a bit off. Other than that, the hotel was lovely. "

"This was our first visit of the property under the new name and branding. The redesigned foyer and common areas are appealing and well designed, our family room was clean and comfortable and nicely put together in terms of style. The restaurant area is less successful in terms of design and we would not rate the breakfast above average. However, five stars to the entire breakfast team (open kitchen included) for their warm hospitality. "

"Great hotel. Staff were good but let down with restaurant weekend staff that could have done more. I kinda felt they didn't make an effort asking a colleague or finding out to andwer my questions instead of just saying "I don't know" Got my simple request wrong 3 times which was a shame. In the end I didn't insist anymore as I felt will just add to my stress."

"Well the hotel is pleasant and characterful. The heating was stuck on in the room with only a small window to open. Unbearable poor nights sleep. On complaining nothing could be done apparently so we were moved to another room. Which was much better. "
