"Nice location, nice room and comfy bed. One negative that we experienced was when we arrived we waited for a while before anyone came and when they did they simply gave us our key, told us our room and that was it. No warmth, not very friendly and was a bit of a shame. Left us both thinking it was a bit off. Other than that, the hotel was lovely. "

"I expect that no one from Expedia had visited this 'hotel' basically a pub with four rooms. They were tired, decoration poor, carpets grubby, toilet was noisy (Macerator) no breakfast options at all and very expensive, £95 per room!"

"For a consecutive month, I booked with a Greene King Inn to include an evening meal with the breakfast. The hotel is situated in the middle of a busy high street with great parking at the rear which is easily accessible. I was warmly welcomed and directed to my room which was nice and clean. It was warm and I asked for a fan which was supplied quickly. I went for a 1 hour speed walk and came across a village called Chawton which was a lovely part of the world to walk around. "The breakfast was very good for buffet with cooked options. It’s well located for Winchester but not a hotel with charming views and paying for parking on top of room charges needs looking at. Why not make it inclusive ? A fridge in the room and capsule coffee maker would be more useful than a safe. "

"Stayed for one night. Had an evening meal and breakfast the following morning. The food was excellent value for money. The breakfast buffet choices were amazing. We stay here every year on our way to Portugal. Just love the place. We took our two dogs with us. The staff are very friendly and really helpful."

"We had a lovely stay and were made to feel extremely welcome. The room was very clean, modern and comfortable. Walking distance from town and close to multi-storey carpark, which was useful. There was a great selection for breakfast and it was possible to choose what you wanted for a cooked breakfast. Fantastic, quirky stay with mugshots of criminals lining the walls and prison doors into rooms. Would definitely stay again"

"Breakfast was ok but lacked fresh fruit, the property needs a refresh and fridges in the bedrooms (although one was supplied on request) No air con but that's normal for the UK. The room was clean and the sports bar was ok - spacious and quick service with pool tables and tvs to watch sport. Driving range and tennis courts were fun and there are outdoor spaces to sit and relax"
