"Beautiful castle with a wonderful staff that made us feel really welcome. Food quality is amazing."

"Fake tan stains were in the bath from previous guest. Hot water took almost 10mins to come on. Outdoor had a few broken planters and weeds coming through the floor. Kitchen was closed for maintenance so there was no food options until breakfast the next day. I could hear people going in and out their rooms until about 2am and then starting again at 6am. I have stayed previously and was impressed but this time just felt like lack of care was given."

"The Abbey Residence has a rooming house feel. We had a spacious room with large but dated ensuite. The walls could use a lick of paint, but there were no real issues with the room. Wifi was good and our room had a good sized Roku based smart TV with lots of streaming options. Parking in central Edinburgh is hard so leave your car at the Abbey Residence and catch the bus into town from the bus stop just across the road. "I loved my stay at the Brae. It was the perfect place to get over jet lag as I embarked on a one-month vacation of the U.K. It’s a couple of miles outside of town, and the bus to downtown stops right in front of the house, which was perfect. Very comfortable for sleeping. Having a bath tub to soak in after a day full of walking was heaven. Graeme was an extremely welcoming and informative host. We did , unfortunately pick a stay when a function was on and the noise from the guests below (around the stairwell) was loud. Some you win, some you lose!"

"Lovely restored house in a neighborhood (more like a B&B). There is a bus that runs into Edinburgh proper or you can take the mile walk. The hotel gives very good recommendations for local dining. Parking can be difficult (limited on-street parking for non-residents). No eating in the rooms."

"If you would like to enjoy your Edinburgh stay surrounded by green & space, this is the place for you. 15 mins walk or 10 mins bus from the busy city center, next to the Arthur’s seat. Unfortunately my room did not have view, just walls, but if you are lucky, most of rooms should have beautiful green views. Friendly staff, good food, lovely garden terrace to enjoy beers, if it is sunny!"

"Das Zimmer und Haus waren sehr sauber, der Hausherr sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Lage ist gut für Unternehmungen in Edinburgh, Parkplatz war während unseres Aufenthaltes vorhanden. Minuspunkte gebe ich weil die Matratze fpr mich zu hart war, kein normaler Kopfpolster sondern ein flaches Kissen das .Irgendwann Nackenschmerzen bescherte. Der Boden, ja ich weiß ist alt, aber knirscht bei jedem Schritt, extrem im Badezimmer und sogar in der Dusche. Das Badezimmer ist extrem klein, ich sag mal...

"This is a great little find. Perfect for a family who doesnt want to be on top of one another in a hotel. It's a little far out for a quick walk to the city center, but the area is beautiful safe and quiet. It was a great find for the pinch we were in when the trains were shut down and we didnt have a place to stay."
