"This hotel was so far from the train station. There was a lot of construction going on, and maybe if this had not happened, we could have had a better chance of taking the bus to the city. There are no restaurants close by. "

"Over all a comfortable stay. It could definitely use some renovating and the stairs are strong concrete but molded oddly in certain areas. But the staff was extremely helpful and the area was very convenient for walking old Edinburgh."

"We never got to stay in the apartment because we couldn't safely get to it. We were informed on the Expedia page that it would be a first-floor apartment. This was not true. The apartment was on the fourth floor (which is fifth floor in the US). The stairs were dangerous and unsafe. The alleyway was next to several bars and smelled of urine, cigarettes, vomit, and old alcohol that had probably been poured out.

"I loved my stay at the Brae. It was the perfect place to get over jet lag as I embarked on a one-month vacation of the U.K. It’s a couple of miles outside of town, and the bus to downtown stops right in front of the house, which was perfect. Very comfortable for sleeping. Having a bath tub to soak in after a day full of walking was heaven. Graeme was an extremely welcoming and informative host. Definitely recommend t

"A Magical Stay Fit for Royalty!
We had the absolute pleasure of staying at this stunning castle, and it truly exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, we were swept away by the charm, elegance, and attention to detail in every corner of the property. It felt like a step back in time- with all the modern comforts perfectly blended in.
The breakfast was nothing short of extraordinary with local treats like cheeses and meat, butteries and fresh yogurt. Every morning felt special and bellies were more than full! The owners went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and you could tell that every detail of your experience is carefully thought out.
Staying here felt like living in a fairy tale. If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind getaway that combines luxury, history, and impeccable service, this castle is it! We're already dreaming about our next visit! "
