"The staff here is great, especially LaVerne who works during breakfast and at dinnertime. The breakfast was very nice, made as ordered, loved the tamarind juice! We ate dinner in their restaurant the first evening, the selection was nice and the food very good. We dined with 3 other couples and LaVerne took excellent care of us! The downfall we experienced at this hotel was the room itself. We did not care for the fact that the only lighting we had was a wall sconce near the bathroom & another one without a globe over the lightbulb itself. It was very glaring! The bedside table lamp was broken. We reported it to the front desk, but nothing was done as far as fixing or replacing it before we left! The room was cold enough to be a meat locker! There did not seem to be any way of adjusting the temperature or fan. We had to turn it off and leave it off for awhile inorder to feel comfortable. The downside was that then our clothing and the bedding were damp and still cold! "

"There's nothing not to like at the Buccaneer Hotel. It's a beautiful property with three great restaurants, boutique shops, first rate tennis and golf programs,and a beautiful Caribbean beach. Highly recommend."

"All around, a nice place to stay. Not luxurious, but perfectly adequate. No major faults. The staff may give the appearance of being aloof or unfriendly, but I perceive this as a cultural difference and not a fault. Perhaps a natural shyness. Don’t expect obsequious friendliness, as experienced at some hotelsl chains. Just genuine kindness. "

"The room was clean! A little outdated and needs some minor to moderate TLC. The staff was amazing and very helpful!! The only issue I had is the lack of food options available in the area near the hotel. The hotel has so much potential and needs an owner who cares about the property. When that happens, the hotel will easily become 5 stars. The restaurant on the property closed down a year ago and needs to be revamped. "

"We chose this hotel last minute after missing our flight. One more night in St Thomas vs returning to snow? Ok!!! The room was great, the view from our room as well as around the resort was very nice. The location is a 10min walk into everything Charlotte Amolie has to offer. Our stay was quiet and pleasant. "
