"We had reserved two rooms. One of the rooms had such an awful, musty smell that it hit you as soon as you opened the door. We notified reception and were given a bottle of air freshener. Sprayed half a bottle in the room and went out to dinner. When we came back smell was still there and still as pungent. TV was also not working so we called reception again. "The room was big and the bed comfy, with the staff friendly, however having just reopened it is in need of some work. One wall mounted socket (head height) for a TV coffee machine and a kettle, with the kettle cord not reaching the plug was not good. The amenities were lacking in the shower, and there was rust on the frame holding the wash hand basin in the bathroom. All of which was disappointing. Also £20 for breakfast was a bit steep!"

"Dirt in the room and under the bed. Staff generally good. Booking came with a room upgrade due to status. Room upgrade didn’t occur despite the hotel being empty and having availability on their website.
Emailed the hotel through Expedia app (replying to the message they sent me) asking questions. That was ignored and not responded to.
Dinner food quality was poor considering my the level they quote themselves to be at and prices charged. Ice cream for dessert clearly suffering from freezer burn...

"Upon arrival we were met with loud music what seemed like a soul weekender. There was forewarning regarding this and our room was not ready. We had a child of 8 with us so it was a bit unfair on him.
The bathroom had no fascia on the shower temp control and there was mould on the ceiling. The tissue box had no tissues in during our two night stay. The mini fridge was not stocked upon arrival .
When I asked if I could see the room before I was paid I was told they needed a managers consent which...
