"We only stayed for one night, but we found that the Inn exceeded our expectations. It was a beautiful historic site, and the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff were as expected from the other reviews of the property. I was traveling with my daughter who has celiac disease, and the Inn was able to provide her with a lovely GF option for breakfast that was as delightful as the rest of the offerings. True GF options while traveling are limited, so this experience was a gem."

The menu was pretty repetitive, with scrambled eggs served every morning and no boiled egg option available. I would definitely stay here again. "The historic Inn is beautifully maintained and updated and provides a unique experience of staying in a home dating back to the 1600's. Breakfast was delicious and Megan the cook was welcoming and helpful. We always stay at the Black Walnut Inn when in Amherst!"

"My favorite place to stay in Amherst! You’re right on the village Green, a few blocks from the Dickinson Homestead, top-notch restaurant on site, wonderful Staff, great shower, comfy beds. We spent the evening chatting and reading by the fire in the communal living room. 10 out of 10."

"Price was very reasonable. It is a problem that there is most of the time no one in the office. Thus, it is really difficult to address issues, particularly in the evening. The TV went out in the evening, and we decided not to bother anyone. Bed was excellent. Location is quiet. Coffee in the office is great, but it would be better in the room. Suggest installing better clothes hanging capability in room. Overall, good value."

"Excellent place to stay in Amherst, whether or not you’re visiting the university. Good food choices just an elevator ride away, plus many other choices at the other UMASS dining options. The breakfast is Continental plus waffles, and it features and non-gluten choices. The pastries are cut above what you expect from most hotels."
