"This was our first stay at The Tides and we will be back when visiting the Laguna Beach area. I came to do my first open ocean swim with the LGOWS group at Shaw's Cove. I chose The TIdes because of its proximity to this beach and the price value. My husband and I were smitten. The room was cozy and cute, with country-style furniture and a very comfy bed. "Booked the hotel mostly because of the rooftop bar but it was closed on Saturday due to a party. Did get to enjoy it on Sunday. Food was just ok but view is fantastic. If I was to stay in Laguna again someday, I would stay away from the Main Street as it's way too noisy from bikes and cars racing up and down the street all day and night. Room itself was pretty nice with a great balcony. Staff were a friendly. Parking was a half a block away but still very convenient."

"I didn't like that checkin wasn't until 4p. After a 5-hour drive, I didn't want to wait for my room to be ready, but if I paid $150 for early checkin I bet they would have had a room ready. At Shorebreak they let me checkin early without an additional fee and gave me an upgraded room without an additional fee.
Whoever was above me was making noise @ 2:30 am!"
