"The truest test of a review is would we stay there again? The answer to that is sadly a no. Nothing particularly wrong, just not really a good value all things considered in the end. "The room is good and of a reasonably high standard. There are however two major challenges. The room was on the top floor which from the car park is three flights of stairs. A lot when you’re carrying several large bags and clothes for a wedding. The second big issue is the hall lights on a sensitive room sensor. There is no way to switch this off or lights off. "The hotel was a quick walk to Bristol Temple-Meads train station which we used a lot during our stay. The room was clean & comfortable & the nespresso machine was a bonus."

"Jonny, the host was friendly, courteous and very helpful. Cannot be faulted. Room and en suite basic, but bed clean and comfortable. Plenty of storage drawers, small table and chairs a nice touch. Shower room small but clean, with good shower pressure. Although above a pub, the rooms are unexpectedly quiet. Budget-friendly - if you want all the “bells & whistles”, then you’d have to pay much more for a room. Well worth the money."

"Staff friendly and helpful on Check in , the rooms and bathrooms definitely need updating which didn’t include breakfast so was quite steep for one night . No air con so it was really hot in the rooms . It was a good location , no complaints there but I think the room fee was too much considering how much they need modernising ."

"Excellent breakfast good choice and very friendly breakfast team. The team deserve a special mention. However on check in the room was not ready and we were kept waiting until another team member just moved us to a room that was ready (not sure why original member of staff didn’t do that) which would have avoided the unnecessary and frustrating wait after a long journey."
