"Right on Grassmarket is centrally located. Area wasn’t noisy which I didn’t expect. Room was clean, well appointed and kept up. Staff very helpful. Only complaint is that television selection wasn’t great. Not bad but not great."

"We loved staying in such an old, classic hotel. Very charming. The rooms were simple, in need of renovation, but clean and comfortable. The bar was lovely, like going back in time. Beer was good, food not great. The staff was very friendly and helpful."

"Nice stay - rooms are small but functional. So if you know you’ll be out and about and not spending much time in your room this works well! Breakfast included was nice but note there’s no “hot breakfast”. Think pastries, fruit, boiled egg, yogurt, etc"

"Absolutely wonderful stay lovely clean and well maintained property Small rooms but lovely kitchen area and everything could need just wish we had bathrobes but the reception did give us all slippers instead Fantastic helpful staff and even sent up A bottle of wine for my friends birthday The 5-6pm drinks in the lounge is genius and we can’t wait to come back Great location too and lovely cafe next door perfect breakfast lovely staff at the plaza"

"Generally a pleasant hotel, great position for the sites , plenty of restaurants and local buses. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Only a couple of things that could be improved on. One of the lifts was out of order for the whole 5 days we were there so there was a bit of a jam for the other one at times. and also the breakfast was a bit overpriced for the continental option being the same £13.50 as for the cooked. But overall a good mid range hotel option"

"An enjoyable stay in a perfect location. We chose a small windowless room which was big enough, and still had a window with no real view. Like an interior cabin on a cruise ship. Very walkable to both old and new town. So conveniently located."

"The room was perfect for a one night stay before flying out the next day. Close to the airport, a full breakfast included, and a nice room made it all perfect"
