"The hotel was good but I was shocked by their policy of housekeeping. They only change bedsheets after a 3 night stay, which was puzzling for me because I was of the understanding that the bedsheets should be changed every day unless stated otherwise by the guest. Then there was a staff who even told me that even after the 3 night stay, I still had to put in a request for the room to be cleaned before 12pm, if that time is missed, then you wait 5 nights before the bedsheets can be changed. "The bed was sleepable after a night on the razz and it was quiet, shower was ok if a bit basic, the room on the whole wasn’t too bad, but the guy on reception was hard work, probably needs to find a career not in the hospitality industry, and the hotel looks like building site, £54 takes the sting out of it a bit, and that’s the only reason I’d stay there again, but sooner pay an extra couple of quid and stay at chain hotel, saying that, it’s under new management so hopefully a work in...

"We would have rated the Castle excellent if we had slept better, but having a room on the busy main road made that difficult…we could imagine that another back room was much quieter. But the atmosphere was nice and both dinner and breakfast freshly cooked and well-presented were all enjoyable."

"Really cosy, quaint room a stone's throw from the station, and surprisingly quiet despite the World Cup going on across the road. Even though I arrived and left outside staff hours, checking in and out was smooth thanks to clear instructions emailed in advance and the good, old-fashioned room keys instead of cards. They even provided a fan to survive the last of the heatwave. Highly recommend!"
