"There were two restaurants near one Greek and one Latin American we tried the latter and it was good, the Greek one was closed Monday. Staff were welcoming, small family run hotel so personal. Nice bar area. Breakfast was included (continental) but they did offer boiled eggs or bacon bap or sausage bap in the morning."

"This was our 2nd stay when visiting Portsmouth for gigs. The hotel team are always very freindly and helpful. The breakfast is always good with good selection of fruits and juices to compliment ( if you actually have room). Free parking on a 1st come basis. All in all a great place to stay when in Pompey!"

"Staff helpful, parking good, if not at the hotel plenty nearby. Walk to coast, buses nearby, shops nearby. If you take a dog there is a small park just a few minutes away."

"Location excellent for attractions. Reception was nice and a bit quirky. Room was a bit bland although recently refurbished. Breakfast was adequate. Air conditioning in the room would have been nice, a fan was provided. If the temperature had been any warmer it could have been a problem. We managed to get free parking at the front of the hotel which was a bonus, spaces were limited."

"A clean and comfortable room which had all we needed. Parking was in a nearby multilevel carpark, a 5 min walk away. Staff were very helpful and friendly at all times."

"There were no adjoining rooms like we were told we could request. Air conditioning was not working. We were given fans but the windows were broken and unable to open to circulate air. There were no laundry facilities or pool like the website suggested. Our family room that was supposed to sleep 3 by using a bed and pull out sofa did not work for us since the pull out sofa was determined to be unsafe and not usable."

"This is easily the best hotel in Portsmouth- best location, easy included parking out front on. there own grounds. Large, traditional old hotel, but well kept. 24 hour bar for residents. Upmarket restaurant. One major drawback - no aircon in the bedrooms or the hallways stairs etc.: a big problem if you are there during a heat wave -36! - as I was. I would still book again though, but only in cooler weather."

"Stayed here for 2 nights on the hottest weekend of the year in room 320. Air conditioning wasn't working we were sweltering in the small room with twin beds that were of differing heights. I spoke to reception about the air con and how hot it was in the room, they gave us desktop fans and told us there wasn't really anything else they could do as there were quite a few rooms with the same issue!! Had we known this we would have booked a different hotel. The member of staff told us they would...
