Editory is a great hotel. Located outside of Funchal, it was easy to walk to restaurants and shops. The location has a resort-like setting, and is very quite. We had a room with a balcony, which was nice. Our room was very clean and well appointed. The gym is small, but you can get a decent workout (cardio + free weights). Breakfast was good and had enough selection for most people.

Die Unterkunft ist ziemlich neu und bietet neben einem Indoor- und Outdoor-Pool auch einen Rooftop-Pool mit Bar. Leider schließt die Bar bereits um 18 Uhr. Aufgrund der Lage liegt der Outdoor-Pool bereits recht früh im Schatten. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist gut. Die Sauberkeit ist ok, allerdings nicht auf 5-Sterne Niveau. Auch die Betten liegen deutlich darunter. Wer es gerne hart mag und kein Problem Quietschgeräuschen hat, kommt auf seine Kosten. Parken kann man in den Straßen rund um das Hotel für wenig Geld. Ein Hotelparkplatz kostet 15 Euro am Tag, was überteuert ist. Parkplätze in den Straßen kosten 0,60 € pro Stunde. Berechnet werden nur Zeiten zwischen 8 und 20 Uhr. Sonntags ist Parken kostenlos. Die Lage ist Top. Viele gute Restaurants in der Nähe. Auch eine Mall ist um die Ecke.

The breakfast selection was extensive and fresh, the staff were really friendly and did everything to accomodate guests and the property is new, combine that with the hotel staff cleaning the rooms so well, our rooms were spotless

Lovely hotel if you don’t want a large hotel which we don’t. However was disappointed with the Breakfast plenty cold choice but very basic hot breakfast choice. Also no evening music, would be nice if they just brought in a musician to play and sing some nice music in evening so you could relax if you didn’t want to go out.

Lovely brand new hotel with nice room decor. Good sound proofing and outside balcony. The hotel is not central Funchal. It's about a 40 minute walk into the centre. However, we like walking so for us it was a great. The walk into Funchal is lovely. In addition, there is a shopping centre and many restaurants close by. The breakfast was reasonable but not outstanding. Very much a self service concept including coffee making machines. The only real negative was that although the balcony is spacious the rooms themselves are on the small side. When the weather is good you can be outside on the balcony but if the weather is bad there is not any coffee table or seating for two people to sit other than the bed.

Positiv: gute Lage (fußläufig zu Einkaufszentrum, Restaurants usw.), Parkplatz-Reservierung in Tiefgarage im Vorfeld möglich (ansonsten "draussen" stark erschwerte Parkplatzsuche), innerhalb des Komplexes sehr ruhig, schöner Meerblick vom Zimmer (Doppelzimmer mit Balkon + Meerblick gebucht), sehr gute Verdunklungsmöglichkeit zum Schlafen, gutes Frühstück mit viel Auswahlmöglichkeiten, insgesamt schönes gemütliches (aber trotzdem modernes) Design des Hoteleinrichtung eher negativ: unangenehmer Abfluss-Geruch im Bad (wurde jeden Tag stärker), Smart-TV-Nutzung nicht möglich (trotz mehrerer Versuche u. a. über Chromecast; trotz Ansprache an der Rezeption keine Hilfe erhalten), keine Sonnenschirme auf Dachterrasse, Innenpool sehr klein und meist voll belegt

Newly renovated Or it seemed, A few pools and great free spa (not massges just amenities) Hotel convenience was excellent. Walk most places and local bus’s were plentiful as were tour bus’s at bottom of hill. Staff was fantastic and There is a mall just around the corner with a Pingo grocery store and clothing shops/fast food.. Last and certainly not least staff was excellent and attentive. Francisco at the front desk was a stand out, he went above and beyond and made our stay that much better.

This hotel is new. The property is beautiful. The front desk staff are friendly, incredibly helpful and speak multiple languages. Some of the other staff are getting adjusted but when they do get some experience this place will be flawless!

this hotel was such a treat and I had a very comfortable stay with gorgeous amenities and views from the rooftop. You were greeted with Portuguese treats and Madeira wine in your room, slippers, and robes, which are always appreciated, and the breakfast had everything you needed (was obsessed with the glasses on the tables, so pretty!). All of the staff were super helpful, very friendly and attentive. I’m not even going to knock a star because who would do that for this reason, but I do wish they were adult hours or late night maybe from 8 to 10 adult hours for the indoor pool area. Their was a lovely spa and sauna, but there were a lot of children in the pool. The parking is also a little hard to get out of if you have a bigger car, but otherwise extremely convenient and just to be aware if you have a larger vehicle. I will be recommending this hotel as a wonderful stay and thank you so much for all your service to everyone on the staff!

It was a good stay and the hotel was nice. The food was good. Only issue we had was the number for the reception was no where to be found in the room so you’re not able to call down if you need anything. They clean the room well but forget to restock on toilet paper. Sadly because it’s just opened the spa doesn’t have a masseuse but the spa was great and loved the sauna.

We stayed at this hotel for just one night, and honestly, we were quite surprised that it is rated as a 5-star property. In our opinion, it feels more like a 3-star hotel rather than 5. The room was very small, which we did not expect from a hotel of this category. We had read many positive comments about the breakfast, but in reality it was quite underwhelming. Aside from fresh fruit and kiwi, there was nothing particularly memorable or impressive. Another detail that felt disappointing was the so-called “welcome drink.” At reception, you are given two cards to redeem for a drink, but in reality this turned out to be just a glass of juice. For a 5-star hotel, one would expect something more in line with the category — even a small glass of sparkling wine would feel more appropriate. This felt more symbolic than truly welcoming. The spa schedule is also not very guest-friendly, as services only start at 10:00 AM, which makes it difficult to use them if you have an early departure. Parking is paid and costs €50 per day, which also feels excessive. To be fair, the hotel is clean, and the furniture and interiors are new and modern. However, overall it does not meet our expectations for a 5-star experience. Unfortunately, we would probably choose a different hotel next time.
