"We have stayed at the Capital Plaza Hotel many times on our way to the Bourbon Trail. The staff have always been friendly and welcoming. The hotel itself is older and dated which is part of its charm and appeal to us. We were unaware when we booked through Expedia that the hotel was undergoing major renovations. "The location was beautiful. But the house was very dirty and in need of much repair. The water smelled like poop. The toilet in our room was filled with waste. The ceiling downstairs right by the kitchen had a huge hole and pipes exposed. The front door was broken and needed much repair. "Very clean room and nice bed which is exactly what you are looking for. I gave 4 stars for maintenance because there is a musty smell, probably air conditioner. I do detect smells easily. Pleased with everything else."
