The hotel was under construction. There was no carpet there was no restroom downstairs. That is pathetic considering what I paid for this room. I should’ve been notified that this hotel was under construction when I made the reservation then I could’ve chosen a hotel that wasn’t in such poor shape Why any hotel would choose to do construction in the springtime when people are actually traveling to Michigan rather than in the dead of winter when nobody’s traveling, I don’t know And why they wouldn’t list on their site that they would be construction again I don’t know. I didn’t pay less because of it. I paid the premium rates for that room. There was no restaurants open. There was nothing.

Staff was not very welcoming upon arrival we seemed to be bothering him. Room was nice a clean. Husband said coffee was terrible. The bed was very comfortable. Over all it was a good stay minus the rudeness of the guy that checked us in.

I booked this room specifically because it said it had a pool. So disappointed to go down to the pool in the am to find it closed- a crew working on the slide and no towels in sight. Very disappointing

W were told the hot tub would be working when we booked and we get thee wit wasn’t working the house keeper was rude when asked for a another set of towels the safe was taped shut the fridge had no adjustable up or down for the temp and our drinks froze.

The pictures of this property are not at all representative of the truth. This hotel smells, offers nothing except ice machines, carpets are disgusting, rooms are dilapidated, furniture is falling apart and literally everything needs to be updated. The pool is under construction (or possible deconstruction) and the hot tub is broken. Not that I would get in anyway! There is no door for the bathroom so there is zero privacy. Last and important, the hotel is not wheelchair accessible as advertised. All of the doors are not wide enough to fit a standard wheelchair. It is in fact NOT wheelchair accessible. The staff was kind and helpful but the hotel is a total wreck.

The room was very clean, yet I had a terriable experiance with my upgrade. I upgrated to a kitchenette, for a fridge and microwave. I also needed to boil some medical tea and dreaded taking the liquid on the plane (for fear it would be taken by TSA). So, days before my trip, I called customer service to see if I could boil the tea in the kitchennette. They said it would be a full kitchen with a stove and pots. Yet when I got there, there was no stove, no pots, and the staff was flipent about it, as if their customer service was not something they were responsible for. They made no apology or attempt to help me find a way to make my medicine. The kitchennette didn't even havd a towel by the sink, any dish soap, silverwear, or any dishes, a bowl or cup to boil water in. It was more like a family room suite, which I didn't need. Most hotels have microwaves and fridges in their regular rooms. I had to buy a kettle from a store nearby and leave it (donate it to the nearby college) because I couldn't take it home. And I have no way of asking for my money back for the upgrade because expedia does not list that price separately. I would not recomend staying here due to how rediculous the upgrade is, the trash can was even smaller in the kitchennette than the main room and the staff being flipant about it, not even apolojetic they couldn't help me, made this hotel a very inhospitable place.
Bed was comfortable. Worked fine.
Kitchenette portion lacked any amenities, despite there being plenty of storage for it.
This was the family room next to the kitchenette, which was not needed for my stay. It was not clear this would be part of the kitchenette.
This is the light switch when entering. When the this door is rolled over it, it can not be turned on or off. Not practical.

Every staff member I interacted with was incredibly professional, helpful, and kind. They truly were the stand-out. However, I would never stay here again for a few reasons. Above all, our room was dirty and run down. There were broken hooks hanging off the wall, stains all over the furniture, stains and holes in the sheets and bedspread, and several bugs. Additionally, the inside of the windows and the area around the air conditioners were filthy. Beyond the cleanliness, the restaurant was closed for the duration of our stay. When we arrived, we were told that the restaurant and bar were closed for renovations - although there were no signs of renovations happening (nothing taped off, no signage, no one working on anything, etc.). This was particularly frustrating, because we chose a hotel that specifically had a restaurant, and not only was there no mention that the restaurant was closed when we booed there was also no mention of this on their site when I confirmed the hours of the restaurant less than 24 hours before we arrived.

I thought it would be ok to book for price, when my family arrived there was ants in the room. I called to main desk and asked if we could switch rooms because I mean who wants ants crawling around, they front desk staff no questions switched the room which was better. They offered a 15 gift card to Starbucks but it wasn’t a real Starbucks. If you just need a place to safely stay I would say ok for the price, but that was a one and done stay for me.

Used the airport shuttle, no issues. Coffee maker was pitiful. Breakfast was expensive and not open for long. Can’t comment on staff, hardly saw them.

We enjoyed the short weekend stay, staff was courteous, helpful and professional, room was clean, bathroom is spacious, overall a nice place.

A time of transition as new ownership comes in (April 2026), but staff was very helpful. Some things could use an upgrade, but everything was adequate.

The bathroom tub was dirty. They wouldn’t clean it until the next afternoon. Even after cleaning it - it was very worn and battered. The entire hotel is terribly ran down. The slide was “under construction”. Will never stay there again!

The guy at the front desk was rude when I asked about early check in, once checked in he said “I hope your room is clean”. The room smelled stale and of smoke we were told there was nothing that could be done about it, the bathroom door is also the closet door and didn’t roll on the track easily, the TV wasn’t connected, there were holes in the curtains so the sun shined in in the morning. There wasn’t breakfast in the morning, there is a Starbucks in the lobby we stood there for about 5 mins and no one ever showed up to help, the guy at the front desk saw us standing there but didn’t offer to help. The hot tub didn’t function properly, it wasn’t hot and the jets didn’t turn on. I will never stay at a Sonesta again! This hotel also wouldn’t accommodate our large group and block rooms for us which the whole team ALWAYS shows up!

The front desk told us to drive to the other side and use our key to get it, door wasn’t locked. Couldn’t get in our room door. They reset the keys, and the concierge had to handle the door to get it open. Room was fine. Bed was comfy. Didn’t like how outside doors B and C were open. No swipe required. We were told if we were using the pool we need a wrist band because outside people try to use it.

Staff were friendly and helpful. While the hotel was generally clean, it needed some freshening up. With that being said, it was a perfect "close to the airport" and the city hotel. The free airport shuttle was so helpful! I had to leave for the airport at 4am and the driver was in the lobby waiting for me when I came down. I only stayed one night and left too early to get breakfast. However, the breakfast area looked wonderful. I would definitely stay here again.
