"Our stay at Cala Lodge was an absolute delight! What a very special place Francisco and family have created! We loved staying in the Mathilda House. It was perfect for our family of 5, ages 14-82, nestled in the cloud forest with floor to ceiling windows. It was incredible to see wildlife pass by, we felt lucky to be guests in their well-loved and protected forest. We had dreams and conversations with the howler monkeys throughout the night, and agoutis, coatis and diverse birds were easily seen...

"What a unique stay! Bungalows are in the woods surrounded by nature. We felt secluded and enjoyed the wildlife all around us. The hiking trails were wonderful, and the staff friendly and helpful. The bungalows are clean and modern and come with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Also conveniently close to restaurants and shops. Loved it!"

"Nous avons adoré notre séjour. Nous avons apprécié les 2 sentiers en forêt où nous pouvions aller marcher et observer les oiseaux. Les lits était très confortable ainsi que les oreillés. La douche chaude était parfaite. Je n'ai que de bon commentaire pour cet hôtel. Seul point négatif, il y avait du wifi dans le hall de l'hôtel mais pas de wifi dans notre chambre."

"Our family absolutely loved Koora Hotel. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely cared for by the staff (especially Jason who has already reached out to me in advance to understand our arrival time) and fell in love with the setting, which is nestled beautifully into the mountain forest. The service was impeccable, and the view overlooking the Monteverde cloud forest from the restaurant was truly epic. The food was so fantastic that we ended up eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner there...

"Absolutely loved our stay here. A once in a lifetime place to visit. My kids were amazed as it literally looks like you are driving into Jurassic park. Our room was beautiful with a full open view of the volcano and just gle. We woke up to monkeys in the trees, saw probably 100 species of different rainforest moths. Clean and comfortable room. My only issue was that we had several venomous wandering spiders in our hotel room which was quite scary with 2 young children with us. I...

"It’s only ok. So many rules…you can’t take the pool towels off the property. This is a problem unless you have your own towels, room was not in good shape- needs painting. It is quiet - not a lot of street noise. You can walk to downtown"

"Rancho Cerro Azul was everything one could ask for in a serene, restful, retreat. The location was perfectly peaceful and quiet with a less than five minute ride into La Fortuna. The grounds and rooms were very well maintained and extremely clean. The air conditioning was a nice break when it was humid and the hot tub was a perfect way to end each day."
