"I cant say enough good things about the Maldron experience. I arrived with no luggage and the staff went out of their way to help me get settled and feeling at home. They guided me to all the shops I needed to find to get clothes and adapters and provided a welcoming greeting every time I returned from my adventures. The hotel has some of the best food in Newcastle and the staff might be made up of the friendliest people in England. Cheers to all the staff at the Maldron especially David and Suzanne who made me feel so welcomed. I now have a home away from home and honestly feel like I found my people.Thank you so much my Maldron Family. "A very tired looking pub and guest rooms. Corridor and stairs to rooms very uninviting and rather depressing. Rooms need updating, painted a dismal grey, paint chipped, silicone in bathroom black and dated furniture, lighting poor and very dim, green light on mirror over sink that illuminated the whole room through the night I had to sleep with an eye mask on (the sink and mirror were in the bedroom)! Tea and coffee in room. Quite noisy from the main road traffic just outside the hotel most of the night. Food in pub and breakfast were ok. Staff friendly and a perfect location if visiting the Freeman Hospital. Easy parking "
