"We really enjoyed our stay in Matsuzakaya Honten! The staff were very hospitable, accommodating and helpful, and the ryokan was very clean and modern, while still retaining its historical charm. We marveled at how it was like staying in a museum, a slice of history, just because of how beautifully preserved everything was. "広いリビングダイニングで夕食、朝食共にお部屋食、寝室は襖で仕切られた隣室。大浴場が別階にあるものの、お部屋のお風呂は檜風呂。お部屋のドライヤーはReFa。アメニティも男女別のFUKUBISUI、SENSAIスキンケアセット。大浴場向かいの休憩室のマッサージ機は無料。お部屋で使用したタオルは随時さりげなく交換されており、濡れたタオルを使わせない心配り。お誕生日であることを事前にお伝えしたところ、お赤飯と記念撮影のサービス。写真は木製フレームに入れて帰りまでに準備して下さった。心温まるお祝いの席となり、大変感謝しています。"

"The rooms were exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the family suite allowed us to stay together. However, the staff was not flexible about our advance request to exclude pork and pork derived ingredients from breakfast and dinner because we did not reply to their follow up email that we never received. Our original request was clear but no alternative was offered upon arrival. The spa massages were underwhelming, and the private onsen could accommodate only two people...

"This place is insanely atmospheric. Every little detail was tended to and the place felt lived in and familiar not stuffy. Their dinner was very adventurous for our group but we could have specified fewer things. The kindest staff ever. And a tattoo friendly onsen!"
