"Good location - walked to market square with plenty of restaurants and shopping. Probably wouldn't want to walk at night, though, as the hotel felt a little more remote. Overall, stay was good. Expensive for one night considering lots of construction around the hotel and parked on the street vs the only other option seemed to be valet. Sheets were a little rough. Breakfast the next morning had good options, but my omelet was not done in the center, so didn't really eat much. Cute lobby, love the variety of sewing machines displayed."

The pool is NOT available and is still covered, the water filter in fitness center doesn’t work on water fountain, the gas fire pit is not on. There is ongoing construction and maintenance. If you are traveling with families please check with the hotel before you book about what is available when you stay."

"What a gem! I chose The Tennessean for my first trip to Knoxville to tour UTK with my daughter, and it exceeded every expectation. As a former luxury hotel professional, I can confidently say their standards of service and cleanliness are top-tier. The entire staff was incredibly courteous and helpful, and the property itself is beautiful, immaculate, and loaded with wonderful amenities. We loved using the gym, and taking their golf cart shuttle to dinner one night was an absolute highlight! The location is truly perfect, offering easy walking distance to local shops, sights, restaurants, and the university. With my daughter starting graduate school at UTK, I’ve officially found my permanent lodging for all future visits."

"Twice I have stayed at this hotel and both times the AC has made noises throughout the night that has made it difficult to sleep. This time everytime it would cut on there was a loud falling noise of something loose inside. Having checked in later at night and traveling with kids once I realized the issue I decided not to bring it to the attention of the front desk."
