"This was a quick overnight stay on the drive back from Cornwall. The off-street parking and affordability were key in our purchase. Our room was clean and spacious, staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious."

"It was a wonderful, yet too brief, one night stay. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Our meal in the informal dining/pub options was nourishing and delicious. The room was clean, large, and bright. We were able to get a room facing back garden and with views. A big pot of tea and a freshly pressed coffee were very nice at breakfast. Local walks on the moor, and to the quarry & rocks and were fab."

"There is a lot that is exceptionally good about the hotel. The staff are extremely helpful , the food and drinks of high standard and the spa area very good. The only slight downsides were poor WiFi although this seems to affect the whole village when we visited. We’d love to come back."

"Lovley clean room and bathroom. 2nd floor room with quite steep stairs, no lift so beware if you are not very agile! Room 6 is basically in the roof, OK in winter but would be very warm in summer and noisy with gulls around as overlooking the other rooftops. Toilet had a macerator which was noisy and didn't quite flush properly once or twice - wouldn't like that again! "We were a little disappointed with our stay and are surprised by the number of positive comments. While our room itself was clean enough, the rest of the property would benefit from a serious deep clean. The carpets on the stairs were heavily ingrained with dirt. We were also surprised to find that the dining area was carpeted, which seems an unusual and impractical choice for a breakfast room. "We were welcomed by the staff and shown to our room, which was spacious, clean, warm and quiet. The bed was large and comfortable with good quality pillows. The shower room was large, clean and modern. It was so reasonably priced, we expected a lot less!"
