"My airport taxi was unable to park at the curb, and the Porter would not let him wait for me to get my bag. This has caused considerable inconvenience. With the exception of J, the concierge, no one in the hotel was able to provide even a few minutes charge for my phone. The front desk was helpful when I could not find my glasses. The area is incredibly loud, the view poor, but the Bourbon Restaurant is nice. There is a lot of skunkweed smell surrounding the exterior perimeter of the hotel so keep that in mind. I would avoid staying here again and regrettably cannot recommend even though the staff is very friendly and tries to help."

"I had a great stay at the alder hotel. They have convenient parking right across the street. Their staff was very friendly and nice, very helpful when I visited New Orleans for the first time during Mardi Gras. Their lobby was decorated so pretty with the Mardi Gras trees. Our room was also very clean which was the most important detail to me. I would stay at this hotel again!"

"I have stay there many time before.now it’s seem to have drop,like up keeping cleaning. The carpet need to be taken up you cant can’t walk around in room with shoe off."

"The room was clean, slightly outdated, but comfortable. The pool is heated and a decent size, there are some pebbles on the floor of the pool, could use resurfacing, not terrible though. There is an option for a time share presentation for those who are interested although the concierge was not pushy. The hotel is connected to Mr. Eds restaurant, tried several dishes, most was mid but they serve large portions. My room had a view facing Canal and the water, very nice with the curtains open at night. The bell staff was super helpful with luggage coming and going. There are some daily fees and a daily parking fee to be aware of, so take extra funds for that. Overall, the stay was good, and the area is close to where you want to be but not directly in the middle of the action. I would stay again."

"This hotel is NOT in New Orleans. The city is listed as New Orleans in the name and as the city on Expedia. It is actually in Harahan. It's not even in Metairie! Getting an Uber from NOLA back was not only costly but nearly impossible. A driver said "nobody wants to go to harahan because they can't make money there." Our last night the driver was on her way home to Metairie which is closer to Nola so she picked up our ride. She said staying Metairie made more sense. Now let's talk about the actual hotel. Had to change rooms 3xs! First room, toilet did not flush at all like the knob just moved up and down. 2nd room must've had a smoker living in there. I dried myself with a towel and it reaked of mildew, I had to re shower in which they said they'd bring up new towels, they did not so I had to air dry. Also the AC didn't work and of course room smelled like a smoker had been living there. We asked them to look at it and they said they'd send someone up in 30 mins. We were there for an hour. No one. We left, came back late that night. Dirty mildew towels still there and broken ac. Thank goodness they had one decent person working there, nia I think was her name. She moved us to our 3rd room. Anyhow, breakfast was supposed to end at 930am, at 845 everything had been cleared. I went to the manager and of course this pissed off the cook so we had to hear that the whole time. I'm so surprised this is a Marriot establishment. More like Mari - rot! Do not stay here. It's a disgrace "
