It was very nice of the staff to provide me with tattoo patches when I hadn't been able to find them so that I could enjoy their onsen. The rooms were in perfect condition and the staff was very accommodating of me trying to communicate in Japanese, switching to very good English when there were words I didn't know or things I didn't know how to say. "The accommodations were spartan but clean we had the "Family Room", the owner very nice and helpful. The bathroom and shower were fine. The double bed was 2 single beds pushed together.It is 15 minute walk to the station and to Byodo-in (main attraction in Uji) There are no food options close by but kitchen access was available.
The only real problem is that for anyone who has mobility issues, access to the room was 2 flights of very steep narrow stairs."
