"Hotel El Rey del Caribe is my new favorite hotel! I stayed one night and felt very sad to leave. It's the perfect oasis in the hustle and bustle of Cancun. Our room was clean with comfortable beds and linens, and very well equipped for a short or long stay, the pool was delightful as was the outdoor shower, the gardens were lush and beautiful, the complimentary breakfast was decent and appreciated, and the service was good! I truly wouldn't change a thing, and I hope this thoughtfully designed hotel stays the same for a very long time to come. I can't wait to return! There are many coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance and the proximity to the ADO bus station is very handy. It's a relatively quick ride to the airport as well, about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. 10 out of 10!"

"Fantastic location and value for the price. 10-15 minute walk to popular markets and restaurants. Room very spacious but balcony doors let all the sound from the roundabout in so vehicle noise is present all night long. Other than that, extremely happy with the stay."

"It was just an ok experience. I didn’t not like that the front desk lady did not give me a pass to leave the hotel and the guard at the entrance would let me leave unless I got a pass and I had to go back wait in line to received said pass. I have never in my life been required to have a pass to leave a hotel. That was not a good experience."

"Located very close to the downtown bus station. We didn't have a car but I did notice a parking lot out the back. The only take away is that there was a night club across a side street and it was noisy at night.. and no pool."

"I don't know how this hotel gets 9+ reviews and is rated as a 4-star hotel, then labeled as "luxury" by Expedia. It is sub-3 stars at best in my opinion. Yes, everything in their photos is physically there, then photoshopped to look much nicer. The rooms are aged, the bathroom is old and small, you can't get into the shower without closing the bathroom door kind of tiny. We don't find anything not clean, but because everything is kind of old, you don't feel clean or relaxed either. The staff is friendly and nice, the location is good, walking distance to the ADO bus station, and other tourist spots. If you are looking for a place to stay for utility, this place will do. If you are looking for an experience, this is not it."

"It was a pleasant 3-night stay for our group. The place has a very good vibe. Close to ADO bus terminal, making it very convenient for day tripping. Not walkable to beaches, but they are all reachable with a short Uber ride. Overall we liked it here better than in the hotel zone - make our experience more authentic."
