"Excellent service, nice room and good value food, nice spa and gardens"

"Brilliant stay! The staff were very friendly and attentive and were happy to upgrade my room free of charge after requesting a room with a bath. The room (27) was spacious and clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was clean and shower had a good water pressure. The food at the restaurant was great and reasonably priced (pork cutlet and espresso creme brulee highly recommended). The booking offered a complementary breakfast of toast, jams, yoghurt, cereals, fruit etc and had a decent selection. Really nice walking/running routes behind the hotel leading off into the countryside also. Its a pity that hotel customers are not allowed to use the gym and pool however without paying extra for it. This was not made clear upon booking and I was slightly disappointed by this. Also would be nice to ditch the small single use toiletry minis and opt for more eco friendly shampoo/shower gel refill dispensers in the shower. Overall great stay and would 100% come back when next working in the area."

"The Barn, close to Copley, Bishop Auckland. Safe, quiet, well appointed double bedroom, single storey property. Nicely decorated with a modern kitchen with fridge, dishwasher, electric oven, induction hob, extractor fan and microwave. Beautiful shower room with two shower heads and heated towel rail. Living area has table and chairs, two seater settee and a single tub chair. There is also a two seater patio set, a large stove, TV and clothes rack. Unfortunately there are no wardrobes in the bedroom but there is a clothes rack in the living/dining area. There is also bedside cabinets and wicker baskets under the bed. There are French windows which open onto the patio to the rear of the property which gets the afternoon sun. "
